VOTER RIGHTSI will always fight to expand the right to vote across our state and country. I want to continue to build on the legacy of our Civil Rights activists as Rev. George Lee, Mrs. Bessie Ree Thurman, Mrs. Mary Thomas (Belzoni, MS). Mississippians know their vote is their voice, but we clearly, especially in rural and communities of color, know that through this state that there are voter suppression tactics at every turn.

HEALTHCAREI know from personal experience that our ability to access health care can change! In fact, in Humphreys County this MUST change! I lost my niece and grand-niece that perished on the side of a rural highway because our county does not have emergency room access. I am committed to the promise of universal, quality healthcare coverage. I will continue fighting to ensure people can access medical services from prenatal to mental health care. We must ensure that health care is a right for all people, just not the privileged. BY ALL MEANS, EXPAND MEDICAID COVERAGE! Why wouldn’t you!?

SMALL BUSINESSI will fight to support small businesses and the jobs they create, while also ensuring that more entrepreneurs from marginalized groups are able to achieve their dream of opening a business. The success of our economy depends on everyone having the opportunity to share in the promise of America. As a member of the Mississippi legislature, I will work with my colleagues on policies that provide for strong, inclusive economic growth.
-
LGBTQIA+I’m dedicated to protecting and advancing the rights of queer and non-binary communities. In the Mississippi legislature, I am committed to breaking down barriers for our most marginalized communities and delivering on the promise of America for all regardless of age, disability status, ethnicity, gender, national origin, race, and sexual orientation.

FARMERS AND RURAL COMMUNITIESI will always fight for investments that better connect all people to opportunity.
My plan includes offering legislation that will restore the rights to individuals convicted of disenfranchising crimes immediately upon completion of their sentencing.

I want to offer a requirement for local candidates to complete training before their final certification of qualifying to run for their prospective offices. Poll workers are required to learn about the election laws and their updates. Candidates should be held to those same standards.

I Believe Knowledge is Power!

Most importantly, I will stay connected to local-level governing bodies - for instance, the Boards of Supervisors, municipalities, and my constituency. I can see how networking with these entities will allow for positive change.
